I'm at my grandparents condo at Cocoa Beach Florida. Today, I went to the beach. I found 6 star fish. I built a really cool sand castle. The castle looked like a catamaran with 4 hills around it. It had 42 sand cannons surrounding it. I counted them myself! My dad dug a big hole. The hole was 4 feet deep. I get to watch a lot of TV here. I like staying with my grand parents!

ReplyDeleteForty-two sand cannons and four hills--sounds impregnable! That is to say that such a structure always stands firm in a boy's mind even if the wind and waves have other ideas, or Dante decides to wreck things up a bit.
The building of your beach fort is a great thing, kind of like your voyage on the sea and all the facinating places you have thus far visited. They are as real and as fleeting as your castle and cannons, but the wonder and pleasure of having made them and experienced them are what life itself is all about. In a nutshell, have a great time on the beach, read much, take care of your brother, love your family, and stay the wonderful and special boy that I know you to be, as well as the great man you will one day become.

ReplyDeleteWhat a great time at the beach. We are having a raging blizzard here, complete with 2 feet of new snow, drifts and temperatures in the 20's tonight. It's still snowing!
