Three days ago I saw bottle cap nose dolphins doing somersaults. They jumped out of the water 5 feet. I also caught my first fish. That day it was 70 degrees. I saw at least 41 pelicans. A few got fish. I've started a french class I have learned 13 french words. French is fun.
Two days ago we took a short trip. It was only 15 miles long. It took about3 hours. There was a military base. I saw huge and loud choppers. They were practicing maneuvers. Also, they were really fast and cool. That day my french words were chat which means cat and chien which means dog. We got to our destination around 12:38.
Stay Cool,
Blake
Bonjour, Blake! I'm delighted to hear that you are learning a few French words, and starting with the ones that matter, like 'chat.' Maybe you will visit a French-speaking island and be able to say a few words to some of the native kids.
ReplyDeleteWow! that was some video on the helicopters---scary. I'm glad I wasn't there for that. I would have remained below with my head under someone's pillow! Maybe there were so many flying over your boat to make sure you weren't spying on them. Did anyone come and talk to you?
What do you mean 70 degrees!? It doesn't seem possible that it is that warm anywhere! It was 2 degrees this morning when we woke up. Not too much snow yet, but still a little on the ground from the last fall.
Thank you for my surprise birthday phonecall! It was such a treat to hear your voices. I got a new winter coat---not much good where you are going, but I've needed one for 15 years. And we ate a wonderful chocolate cake---you would have wanted to eat the whole thing. (With Dante.)
I'll sign off now, but will enjoy reading your blog. Love and big hugs to you all, Mamine
Hello Blake,
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are having a good time in North Carolina. What kind of fish did you catch? Did it give you a fight and was it edible? It must be fun to have your fishing line troll along with the speed of the boat, with wind in her sails, and the promise of something good at the other end of the line when and if a fish comes along.
The video of you and Dante running on the dock was great. Leave it to you to go backwards once you arrived at the top! Looks like you haven't lost your sense of humour. Small wonder, with your dad, the mad captain, looking like old Neptune himself, and all in Medussa coils about his head, carrying on like a big kid! Also, the video of the helicopters was exciting. Sounds like they were really checking you out and putting on an aerial display for all the B's.
Not sure whether you will be in South Carolina for Christmas or be staying put in safe harbor. The winter storm that is battering the entire east coast of the US is a real blizzard--we heard that your cousins in Virginia will be playing in two feet of snow!! Hope the ocean and the warm water are keeping it away from you on the boat. Mamine and I are going to attend a candle light service at our beautiful Old First Church this evening. We will be thinking about you all and be raising our voices and prayers for your safe voyage and good health. We love you all.

We wish we were in the Carolinas! It is freezing here with over 2 feet of snow! We love you lots and really enjoy reading the blog. Cat is taking French also, so next time we see you we can speak some French!
ReplyDeleteLove, Aunt Christine
