You wouldn't believe what my Thanksgiving was like. I had it with complete strangers! The harbor master walked right past us and asked us if we wanted to go to their Thanksgiving party. We said sure. We went over to the place where they were having the party and took some showers. After we took a shower we went to the beach. I found 15 clam shells. They were an inch thick! I also found a snail shell 4 inches round, some coral and a horse shoe crab shell! When we got back it was around 2:00 P.M. It was time for dinner. There were 2 turkeys, stuffing, stuffing balls(a whole lot of them at least 100, mashed potatoes, butter nut squash and a dessert table! I had a lot of fun!
Stay Cool,

Hi Blake
ReplyDeleteIt's Mr. T! I love your blog and enjoy reading about all of your adventures! My favorite post was when you were at the top of the Washington Monument squeezing the White House! You are a terrific writer and I will enjoy reading more! Have a blast!
Mr. Thurlow
Blake,
ReplyDeleteThat was a great Thanksgiving dinner. I especially liked the potatoes with the pickles in them. The turkey was good too! I felt really blessed and very lucky to enjoy such an important holiday with these beautiful and generous people.

Blake,
ReplyDeleteWho would have thought that your Thanksgiving dinner would have turned out like that?! It really is a lesson in the true spirit of Thanksgiving--sharing with others and being kind to wayfaring strangers. I'm so glad you posted your experience and are keeping us all informed with your great narrative and pictures. Keep up the good work, particularly the stories and narratives about what you, Dante, and your family are seeing and doing. I imagine you're heading due south for North Carolina about now. Good luck, pleasant sailing, and stay warm and happy!
Love to you all.

Blake, you are my typing lesson for the day. Thanks for introducing me to that program---except that I always hear the little voice saying "oops" every time I make a mistake! (I won't tell you how many times so far as I am typing this.)
ReplyDeleteI just spent a half-hour online seeing where you are and reading about the Great Dismal Swamp (was it really dismal?) and how George Washington put up $500 to help get the canal built. I wonder what your favorite part of the trip has been so far---maybe you might tell us in your next entry. And don't say all the food at Thanksgiving! (But---TWO turkeys?!)
Your blog is lots of fun to follow! Keep up the good work. Lots of love, and a big hug for Dante (and Gigi and Edna, too), Mamine.
